Questions for Rio Ferdinand

As one of most famous graduates of The Academy of Football, after making his debut in the first team at the age of 17 making 158 apps, Rio has gone on to have arguably one of the most successful careers at both club and international level, being capped 81 times, scoring three goals and representing his country at multiple major tournaments.
I personally recall the disappointment of losing such a promising talent for a then British transfer record of £18m and unsurprisingly, we then went and squandered the transfer fee we received.
However, unlike a number of former players over the years, upon his return to the club as an opposition player, Rio always acted with respect and often speaks with great fondness about the club where it all started for him.

- what was your ambition as a west ham youth player? Did you see yourself leading the club to glory, or did you always have your eyes on an established Champions league team?
- Did you feel pressure as the teen hailed as the new Beckenbauer/Moore who could read the game & bring the ball out? Was that expectation the reason for the errors we came to forgive fairly often?
- What differences did you see between having Neil Ruddock as a partner in defence comparison to Vidic. Did they train differently?
